Vin Scully, Chick Hearn, Doc Emrick, Al Michaels, Bob Costas... it is just crazy the calibre and quality of broadcaster I've seen in my lifetime. As the sports world turns to putting untested athletes like TB12 in the booth, I wonder if we'll ever see their like again. It's possible this new wave of new media will have standouts but it's certainly not a lock.
Vin was like a 3rd grandfather to Los Angeles and fans all over the world. I'll always remember the day I met him as a 14 year old. His smile. So happy to take a picture with me and my little brother. You went to his voice for knowledge, for advice, for comfort. Thank you Dan for your words on my Grandpa Vin 🙏🏽💙🤍💝🥲
He was pretty much my first grandfather. Both of mine died before I was 3 so I didn't know them. But we all knew Vin. My old man, brother and I would listen damn near every night until we moved out. Now my old man and Vin are both gone. Cherish that photo man, great story!

My dad was such a miserable prick, that he hated Vin Scully. Literally the only person I've ever heard of that disliked him as a broadcaster
